Description
Various geographic features covering the entire earth. World coverage of topographic map themes. VMap includes major road and rail networks, hydrologic drainage systems, utility networks (cross-country pipelines and communication lines), major airports, elevation contours, coastlines, international boundaries and populated places. The original VMAP files were created by the United States Defense Mapping Agency, based on the Digital Chart of the World 1:1,000,000. Version 5 is based on the newest edition of the 1:1,000,000 Operational Navigation Charts, published by the United States national Imagery and Mapping Agency.
